Stones Solicitors - www.stones-solicitors.co.uk

Stones Solicitors are one of Exeter’s leading law firms, listed as a Top 200 Law Firm by The Lawyer Magazine and recognised by the two independent directories, Chambers and the Legal 500, as a leading practice providing first class services to both businesses and individuals in the South West.

For the second consecutive year Stones Solicitors has taken on the role of sponsors of the Exeter Night Walk. In 2009, not only did we provide each charity with a cheque for £1000, but helped by supplying lots of volunteers and a team of 33 walkers who raised a further £2700! We are offering the same level of support this year.

Why did Stones Solicitors get involved with the Exeter Night Walk?

We had been looking for some time, to support a local charity or local event that would boost the profile of Stones Solicitors in Exeter. When the opportunity arose to support an event like the Exeter Night Walk we felt that it fitted perfectly with our firm and our ongoing strategy.

Helping a local charity, Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF), and a national charity Macmillan Cancer Support was an easy decision for Stones. We see ourselves very much as a Law firm that is open and approachable and part of the local community. We are delighted to again be associated with an event that last year raised over £75,000 to help local people affected by cancer across Exeter and Devon.

Obviously there are business benefits to being sponsors of an event like this, brand awareness and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to name a couple, but one of the main benefits of supporting this event was the buzz of excitement that emanated around our offices in the build up to the event and afterwards.

2009 was, for many businesses, a tough year and in some cases difficult decisions had to be made but from the 12 staff who volunteered to the 33 ladies that took to the moonlit streets this event brought about a fantastic camaraderie across our offices and galvanised all the staff together in support of two very deserving charities.

The »Role of Honour« on this website is there to thank all supporters and this will also be sent to walkers after the event. The Night Walk Roll of Honour will also be published in the Express and Echo’s special Exeter Night Walk Supplement after the event.

ELF and Macmillan rely on events like this to raise the money needed to continue to do the fine work that they do. Are you are able to support this event by providing some of the items on the Wish List, a financial donation or simply by encouraging staff to get involved? Stones have really benefited from our involvement in this event – you & your business could too!
